Intended Audience: The intended audience of this course is anyone interested in using Enhance.

Motivation: Enhance is a powerful free web page and e-Learning development tool. Learning the material in this course will make you more proficient with Enhance and increase your productivity.

Prerequisites: The student must have a basic understanding of Microsoft Windows.

Course Objectives: After taking this course, a student will be able to:

  • Add Flash animations to a web page.
  • Add .FLV video to a web page.
  • Add non-context-sensitive Help Steps to a web page - including text, sound and video.
  • Add context-sensitive Help Steps to an HTML form.
  • Rollback or Un-Enhance a web page.
  • Publish a project.
  • Select the appropriate files to copy to the web server.
  • Navigate and use Enhance's features in support of all of the above.

What to Expect: This course consists of a series of software simulations allowing you to interact with the simulation as you would the real software. First, each module walks you through step-by-step, using red arrows to direct you where to click and when. Then, you are given an opportunity to perform the same task on your own with little or no guidance.

During the unguided portion of the module, for each step in a task, you will be given three tries to click in the correct place. If you click correctly, you will automatically proceed to the next step. If you do not click correctly, after three tries, you will be brought back to the beginning of the module to go through it again, with guidance. To pass a module, you must complete the task(s) associated with that module with minimal or no guidance. You may take each module as many times as you need in order to pass it. To pass the course, you must pass all of the modules.

Course Navigation: This course is completely self-pace and is designed to give you a great degree of control over your learning experience. During the guided portion of the module, in addition to the on-screen prompts and simulation interaction, you can also page through the course. For instance, you may wish to page back to see a step again. The navigation controls include the following:

  • Next button - takes you to the next page.
  • Previous button - takes you to the previous page.
  • Hide/Show Text button - during the guided portion of the module, when clicked, it hides/shows the instructional text. Note, if you hide the text, the sound will automatically play. We have to provide instruction to you somehow!
  • Mute button - turns off the sound until clicked again. Clicked again, it plays the sound clip for the current page from the beginning and successive page sound clips will start automatically.
  • Pause button - pauses the sound clip at its current spot. Clicked again, it plays the sound clip from where it left off.
  • Tool Tips - to see what a control does, roll your mouse over it.
